● The class
A first afternoon at the wheel. You will learn to centre clay, open it and pull up even walls, with a tutor beside you the whole time.
How the session runs.
Three steps, at your pace. Your tutor stays beside you the whole time.
Step 01
Wedge and centre
We start by kneading the clay and learning to find the centre of the spinning wheel. Most of the afternoon's magic happens here.
Step 02
Open and pull
You open the clay and pull up your first walls, slowly, with Mara at your side correcting your hands as you go.
Step 03
Trim and choose a glaze
Pick your two best pieces, choose a glaze from the studio wall, and we fire them for you over the next weeks.
Before you arrive.
Everything for the class is already on the bench. Here is what you will leave with, and the little you need to bring.

I came in thinking I wasn't creative. By the end I'd made two little cylinders I'm absurdly proud of.
