One-day workshop

Stone Setting

● The class

Make a bezel and set a cabochon stone in silver, step by step.

How the session runs.

Three steps, at your pace. Your tutor stays beside you the whole time.

Step 01

Choose a stone

Pick a cabochon and learn how a bezel holds it in place.

Step 02

Build the bezel

Form and solder a bezel to fit your stone and attach it to a simple band.

Step 03

Set and finish

Push the bezel over the stone, burnish it smooth and polish the finished ring.

Before you arrive.

Everything for the class is already on the bench. Here is what you will leave with, and the little you need to bring.

Forty years at the bench and still learning.

Setting my first stone felt like a real jeweller's moment. I'm already planning the next one.
